Atheists if the Bible is false why does the Septuagint have Messianic Prophecies about Jesus Christ in it's version of the Old Testament ?Atheists if the Bible is false why does the Septuagint have Messianic Prophecies about Jesus Christ in it's ve?
1. It has messianic prophecies, not messianic prophecies about ';jesus christ.';

2. If I take a book with predictions in it, and write a fictional story about a guy who fulfilled all those predictions, does that make the predictions true? Or have I simply tried to make it look that way with my fictional story?

Come on, you can do better than that...or can you?

Peace.Atheists if the Bible is false why does the Septuagint have Messianic Prophecies about Jesus Christ in it's ve?
There's no verification of these prophecies. Jews do not believe Jesus fulfilled them, and the New Testament was written, at the earliest, at least 30 years after the Crucifixion. Of course the disciples made it look like Jesus fulfilled the prophecies. In fact, one ';prophecy was fulfilled'; that's not anywhere to be found in the New Testament. Certainly nobody outside the Bible verifies that they were fulfilled. If I wrote a book with predictions in it, how credible is it if I turn around in the same book and claim those predictions came true?

Edit: Sorry, Gene, the Septuagint predates the New Testament. That's why the New Testament quotes the Septuagint.
There are no prophecies of Jesus Christ in the Jewish Torah, so if the Septuagint has such a thing in its Old Testament, it's a mistranslation. Probably on purpose as so much of the Christian old testament mistranslations are.

To Whats Up Doc: Wow thats really interesting. 300 prophecies concerning the Messiah have been fulfilled! What an amazing feat, considering there are only about 27 of them in actuality, in the Jewish bible and in Judaism.
A mathematician, Peter Stoner, had his graduate students calculate what the odds would be of any one person fulfilling just eight of these prophesies. He found the chance was one in 100,000,000,000,000,000! Only a God who knows the future could have revealed these prophesies to those that He would have record them in His Word.

'What's up Doc' hits the bulls eye. Bravo!

While other religious folks thinks that the Prophesies are misinterpreted, too many has been fulfilled to deny the fact.
It talks about a messiah, but never mentions Jesus by name. For example; 20 years ago I could've told you that someday there would be a black president, however that doesn't mean I foresaw Barack Obama and the 2008 election.

Another example; I can tell you'll give BA to an answer that agrees with your ignorant opinions, however I don't know which answer it will be, or who it will come from.
Explain in a logical fashion the history of the LXX, how it came into being and why true biblical scholars would consider it a valid translation/interpretation of scripture. Do that and you would have atheists' heads spinning.
I hate to be pedantic - actually that's not true; I love it! - but your use of 'it's' is grammatically wrong and means 'it is'. Sorry.
Because the Septuagint has inaccurate translations from the Hebrew. There are many other prophecies which didn't happen.
Vague, self fulfilling prophecies are just so much fun, aren't they?
That proves nothing.

Did those verses mention Jesus Christ by name? Or, were they vaguely worded so that it could have been interpreted to mean anything the reader wished it to mean?
Retconned.
And these prophecies accidentally appeared after Jesus showed up...
I for one don't care or believe in prophecies
stop taking those funny pills.
here is something I read interesting:

From the Old Testament alone, more than 2000 specific prophesies have been fulfilled.

No other so called Holy book compares.

Most of the 333 prophesies concerning the Messiah were fulfilled by the birth and life of Jesus Christ and the rest will be fulfilled at His second coming.

All fulfilled at crucifixion in New Testament

prophesied in...Psalms 22:

7 All who see me mock me;

they hurl insults, shaking their heads:... fulfilled in Mark 15:29

8 ';He trusts in the LORD;

let the LORD rescue him.

Let him deliver him,

since he delights in him..... fulfilled in Matt 27:41

they have pierced my hands and my feet....fullfilled in John 20:25

18 They divide my garments among them

and cast lots for my clothing...fullfilled in Matt 27:35
Septuagint written after NT was written.

Why you can believe the Bible and since the Bible is true, then

you can believe in God,because the Bible speaks of Him existing.

This is based on the history of the King James 1611AV Bible.

Other versions (233 DIFFERENT versions on the market), ALL are proven

to be from corrupt MSS (manuscripts).

1. It doesn't demand blind faith. For faith to be of any value, it must be

based on facts, on reality.

2. Ancient history supports the Bible's accuracy.

3. The Gospels provide reliable accounts of Jesus.

4. Archaeology Science backs up Biblical accounts.

5. Textual scholarship confirms the Bible.

6. The Bible is true to it's original form because:

a. we have such a hugh number of MSS copies, over 24,000.

b. these copies agree with each other 99.5%.

c. the dates of these MSS are very close to dates of their originals.

7. The Bible's textual integrity is more certain than that of Plato's

writtings and Homer's Illad.

8. History written ahead of time is proof the Bible is not a product of man.

9. In contrast, the book of mormon: archaeology has repeatedly failed to

substantiate the book's claims of cities, persons,names or places mentioned.

10.From a historical and legal perpective, if enough eyewitnesses are alive when the

the facts are published, it's can be fairly well established the vaidity of a

secular event. (see 1 Cor 15.6)

11. Anthropology Science (study of humanity and

social cultures) confirms the Bible.
