Can you think of anything else that might portend to false prophecy. ? ?

1. assumption

2. probability

3. Imagination

did you ever watch bad news bears, and do you remember the lecture on what assumption IS? assumption seems to be the likeness of intuition. So many times have i assumed something that turned out to be wrong and usualy is found out in 30 minutes or less.

prophets of probability was a notion i read in a book ';a stranger in a strange land';. the author, whom i have forgotten at this time, made a very real impression on my mind, even if i dont remember 2 more things from that book. This one has lasted. probability is no better than an educated guess. and if you assume you have the spirit of inspiration you can still assume Wrong because the inspiration a person might receive can be of the source which is not of God.

Imagination is completely debunked by the prophet in the old testament. the prophet claims from God that many if not several False prophets declared false prophecies from their own imagination. of Course imagination can also be under the influences of sorceries and mind control. there are so many forms of mind control and sorcery that many people believe they can USE plant life and pharmecuticals to gain the gifts of ESP and prophecy together. But ultimately Imagination is just another false prophecy likened unto many UFO prophets that are left alone when prophecies fail.

You missed a very important one for most cults today: PROFITABILITY!

I think that many people are deceived by people who think that they can take a few verses from the bible or other spiritual book, add a twist here and there and become induced in ever changing doctrine until they get what they call the ';true '; religion of GOD. For instance JESUS CHRIST never founded the Catholic church. Mormonism was founded by a snake oil salesman who became enlightened to worldly ideas.

The church of England was taken over by head of state from the catholics by a non Christian head of state. Henry the Eighth as a way to make his reign seem righteous. Every time I see a new take on christianity, I ask myself who profits by this. I usually get my answer by seeing some slick willie turning his house into a mansion at the expense of his followers. It's been happening since the days of false idols to allow for sexual immorality since the early days. Now it just paves the way for greed!

Something that needs little imagination, assumption or probability as it is the basic desires taught to most of thew children today in schools and by society!

Jesus so stated his kingdom was not of this world but the next. Why does mankind put so much emphasis on this world and deny the next! Can you think of anything else that might portend to false prophecy. ? ?
Well...

I just received revelation the other day that someone plans on my demise.

So I asked Heavenly Father for certain measure if the message I received was correct because it is so severe.

and he said, ';I AM the Spirit of Truth, because I AM the Truth, and I AM with you.';

So please pray I can escape it. Thanks
All prophesy that are the result of man's thinking will be false. Prophesy that results from wisdom obtained at the soul level will most likely occur..God bless.
The one thing you appear not to have covered is Spiritualism.

There have been many individuals whom I have met over the years, some from the church I attend and some from other churches I was invited too.

They claim to have a 'word from God;' a prophecy, when on a closer look it has been nothing more than 'poor mediumship, such as one would expect to find in the Spiritualist Halls up and down the country.

While other people claim to have a word from God, but it is not God Himself, it is the Holy Spirit, it appears there is a fine line between a word from God and a word from the spirit world, which many Christians fail to grasp.

I can say this only because I was involved in the Spiritualist Movement before I became a Christian, and am therefore aware of the differences, aware of the fine line.

Personal, I would say that Christians need to be much more aware of what they call a prophecy, a word from God, in most cases it usually turns out to be wrong.
