Christians! what do you have to say about the false prophecies in the bible?

Romans 13:11-13 ';And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in the orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immortality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.';

Paul and his followers all died and are now desolved into soil from bacteria and the judgment day still didn't come yet!! The judgment day was supposed to come during Paul and his followers. That's why he was telling them to be prepared for the hour was coming soon.Christians! what do you have to say about the false prophecies in the bible?
LOL!

good pointChristians! what do you have to say about the false prophecies in the bible?
How do you know ';the judgement day was supposed to come during Paul and his followers (lifetime?)'; ? That is a whopping big assumption for which you offer no proof whatsoever. To quote severally from your Biblical quote: ';...our salvation is nearer....';, ';The night is nearly over; the day is almost here.'; Note very carefully the Bible does NOT specify an exact day and time. The Bible does NOT say judgement will come in 2 weeks or ';on the 2nd of June next year';. The Bible speaks in RELATIVE terms, i.e. ';nearer';, ';nearly over';, ';almost here';, not the absolute terms you are interpreting as directly implied by your statement that it didn't happen during Paul's lifetime. The BIble makes no false prophecies. Let he who has ears, hear. Let he who has eyes, see. There are none so blind as those who WILL NOT see.
wow !!! let me guess you had to get help to type this right???
All depends on your meaning of soon is!
We are currently living in the LAST days. This is an era. The Bible is divided into ERAS which span time. God does not wear a watch. He does things in the fullness of time, or eras. Paul and the other Apostles did live in the last days and we are still living as such.

There will not be any more ';christ's'; to save us.

There will not be any more ';signs and miracles'; to persuade us.

There will not be any more ';prophets'; for Christ was the last.

We are in the final chapter of time.

Jesus taught the day of salvation is at hand. And it was, and it still is...salvation is available for all men and women. It also says God will be slow to end these days because He wants all people to come to Him, so He is exercising patience and longsuffering.

BTW, ONLY God knows when Jesus is returning. Even Jesus does not know the hour the day or time.
This is explained in 2 Peter 3:

3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Firstly, the apostles communicated with believers in ';God's time.'; None of them knew when, in ';human time,'; the End Times would be. Secondly, none of the other apostles received the visions given to John, as recorded in Revelation, which clarify things quite a bit.

We know these are the end times because of the multitude of fulfilled prophesies that tell us we are in the last ';days.';

Peace.
It's a nitghmare!!!!
First Christian response will be something like this:

*fingers in ears*

Laa Laaa La Laa Laa La La Laa, praise the lord, Laa La La Laa
I consider myself as real as they come,i pride myself on my honesty, I treat people the way they treat me.I believe that no man is better than any other,we all came from vagina's'.I believe that human beings are insignificant in the big scheme of things eternal,we are carbon,we will all return to the earth from which we sprang.I believe in the reality that if anyone who is reading this takes a look around their present location.....EVERY SINGLE THING YOU SEE,EVERYTHING, all of it,even this computer.....all came,in material form,from this floating rock we call Earth,because nothing leaves,or arrives,it all came from beneath your feet,to me that is incredible....before us there was nothing but trees and rocks...oh yeah there was peace too.I believe that humans are a virus on this planet,and the planet fights us with hurricanes,tsunamis,volcano's',etc... I don't believe there is an afterlife,but I do believe that when we die our ';spirit'; remains here.To me a spirit is carbon.Religion is a watse of time...
Paul never said that Jesus would return during his lifetime. If so, why would he have bothered writing? The point is that our lives are short, and we never know when our last day on earth would be; therefore, we need to live every day in accordance with God's word.
The bible is a symbolic collective of literature from some of the most brilliant minds of the time. It is the work of god through people on earth. Read literally it lacks a great deal in accuracy, but it is a book designed to be understood symbolically.
Paul never said ';when'; the judgment day was going to be. When he said ';our salvation is nearer now';, he was right, because salvation is at the end of our life, and from the day we are born every day is a day closer to ';our'; final day.
No false prophecies in THE HOLY BIBLE - the end is near for all of us!@
No, he was reminding them that we do not know when the second coming of Christ will be, so we must stand ready in case it is today.
Only God knows when the time has come. If you read the Bible,

you would know that.
Soon isn't a date. But it is appointed for man to die then judgment. So for them it has come.
Every religious scripture has some false prophecies engraved in it!
Its like arguing with a wall. People believe the bible literally...it doesn't seem to matter that it's one giant contradiction!
First of all, ';followers of paul'; were actually followers of Christ. And all the followers of Christ have not passed away, if we look at it from your logic.
Funny, I dont know of any false prophesies. Could you enlighten me? Oh, I doubt there was any kind of tracking technology or ways for the whole world to watch as Jesus descends from heaven. So that had to be invented first... and all the other 5000+ prophecies as well had to be fulfilled.
i think u r all nutts
ok yeah context please...besides read Isiah(sp)...It's full of prophocy that came true
understanding the (present) time.
Paul did a lot of things that Jesus wouldn't support. I put my faith in ';Bob';.
In answer to your question, prophesies are to be tested.

So far, we are still testing many. Every generation believed it was the end times. Our timing is not God's timing.

That is how I would answer your question.

Keep on seeking!=)
I agree with Jim. Paul did things that Jesus whould frown upon
Read Peter for further explanation:

1 or 2 days is like 1000 or 2000 years for God
According to the Expositor's study bible (KJV):

';knowing the time'; meaning we do things with the Judgement Seat of Christ in vieiw. ';for now is our Salvation nearer than when we believed'; actually speaks of the coming Rapture of the Church and the Believer at that time being glorified..';The night is far spend, the day is at hand'; refers to everything up until the coming Resurrection as ';night';; all after the Resurrection is referred to as ';day';, with both day and night used as symbols

Paul and his followers didn't know when that day was coming and neither do we, but he was telling them to be ready. The message is relevant to them then as it is for us today. God has promises He has to fulfill. People often assume that God think like them. We don't know the ways of the Lord. A year to us, could be a day to him. So what if it hasn't come to pass yet, If God said it, it will. No man knows the day nor the hour...
1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

Did ya get it yet?

They are asleep, still didnt get it,,? Of course not. ya know why?

Because:

1Cr 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.
