How can Trinitarians and others claim Jehovah's Witnesses made false prophecies regarding 1914 and 1975?

Do you love how cult members try to dance around the issue and deni everything? The cult gets all its doctrines and prophecies from the Watchtower. The Watchtower calls itself a prophet and it is the only place to get spiritual guidance......In fact they say God writes all its publications!

So if the Watchtower made all those false prophecies in which YEAR the world would end then God is a liar! However since we all know God doesn't lie than we can safely say the Watchtower is a false prophet who does not speak in the name of God but instead for the governing body!

Finally don't you love how cult members refuse to call it false prophecies. Well the cult did make several false prophecies and that is the mark of a false religion. Duet 18:21-22, Matt 7:15-20

The Watchtower calls itself a prophet!

';So, does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come? These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet? ... This 'prophet' was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian witnesses.'; Watchtower 4/1/72, p 197

The Watchtower claims its the only place to get spirtual guidance!

';We all need help to understand the Bible, and we cannot find the Scriptural guidance we need outside the 'faithful and discreet slave' organization,''; (Watchtower, Feb. 15, 1981).

People don't write the Watchtower.....God does!

Unlike any other Organization the Jehovah Witnesses say they alone represent God as his spokesman on earth. ';The Watchtower is a magazine without equal on earth because God is the author.';(W.T. April 15, 1943 pg.127)

God Bless!How can Trinitarians and others claim Jehovah's Witnesses made false prophecies regarding 1914 and 1975?
excellent.

trinitarians obviously don't know what a false prophecy is.

those dates were just new light opportunities. understanding is much better now. the system is ending very soon now, and you have to be ready for the race. so don't look behind you, just run, idiot.

and obviously, armageddon did happen on both those dates, and several others.How can Trinitarians and others claim Jehovah's Witnesses made false prophecies regarding 1914 and 1975?
Some Jehovah's Witnesses came to my mothers house in 1975 and told her the world was going to end. Are you calling my mom a liar?!

If the organization did not actually prophesy the end in 1975, then how come so many Witnesses left the faith immediately afterwards? (';They lost roughly three-quarters of the movement between 1925 and 1928, then suffered huge losses after 1975, when the end didn't come as they had implied over and over again,'; said Jim Penton, an ex-Witness who writes entries on Jehovah's Witnesses for the Encyclopedia Americana.)
They decide that the basis of the dates are not valid, and as such claim that any thing related to them is false.

An example is 1914. Those who do not recognized the ';time of the Gentiles'; as spoken by Jesus as a specific time period based on the 7 times from the book of Daniel. Yet, Jesus made a point of quoting from Daniel a number of times. Hmm... bias wins out over study and research.

And then 1975. The facts are right, That year would have been Adam's 6000th year on earth IF he had chosen not to sin. The expectation of some that ';that would be a good year'; for God to bring his kingdom into full effect was the mistake they made. Since I was baptized in 1972, I heard some that had that hope, and it would have been nice and convenient for me, but I would regret missing the more than 5,000,000 additional brothers and sisters that have come in since 1975.

Jehovah God knows his time, and since I can trust him, I will let him handle the clock.
Well, you see, the Watchtower Society has a long history of peddling knowledge. It’s more subtle now than back in the day when they charged householders a certain amount for publications and later when they solicited donations more forcefully. Currently, the members themselves are expected to pay reasonable retail price for the publications they take from the KH. Of course, they gladly pay, since they believe their salvation rests partly on “taking in knowledge.”

Problem is, in peddling this “knowledge” that maybe one day, if they learn enough, will possibly, kinda-sorta save JWs from the wrath of Jehovah, the Watchtower has left a paper trail that would probably wrap this globe like a big ole’ industrial sized double roll of Charmin. Many of us collect the stuff, and even though much of it is now disappearing from local Kingdom Halls, we have it nicely preserved for posterity.

If they had put much thought into it at the inception of the organization, they might have passed the knowledge on secretly by word of mouth like the masons. They obviously knew something about masonic teaching since they used their symbols on early publications. Oh, yeah…I guess they didn’t think that would be necessary, since they expected the world to end very soon:

“...the ‘battle of the great day of God Almighty’ (Rev. 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth’s present rulership, is already commenced.” (The Time Is At Hand, 1886, p. 101)

“...the ‘battle of the great day of God Almighty’ (Rev. 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1915, with the complete overthrow of earth’s present rulership, is already commenced.” (The Time Is At Hand, 1915 edition, p. 101)

“Also, in the year 1918, when God destroys the churches wholesale and the church members by millions, it shall be that any that escape shall come to the works of Pastor Russell to learn the meaning of the downfall of ‘Christianity.’ ” (The Finished Mystery, 1917, p. 485)

“...1925 shall mark the resurrection of the faithful worthies of old...based upon the promises set forth in the divine Word, we must reach the positive and indisputable conclusion that millions now living will never die.” (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, 1920, p. 97)

1975 prophecy--

';Adam Created At Close Of 'Sixth Day' Are we to assume from this study that the battle of Armageddon will be all over by the autumn of 1975, and the long-looked-for thousand-year reign of Christ will begin by then? Possibly, but we wait to see how closely the seventh thousand-year period of man's existence coincides with the Sabbath-like thousand-year reign of Christ...IT MAY INVOLVE ONLY A DIFFERENCE OF WEEKS OR MONTHS, NOT YEARS.” (Watchtower, August 15, 1968, p. 499)

';According to this trustworthy Bible chronology six thousand years from man's creation will end in 1975, and the seventh period of a thousand years of human history will begin in the fall of 1975 C.E Six thousand years of man's existence on earth will soon be up, yea within this generation. The rein of Christ...to run parallel with the 7th millenium ...'; (Life Everlasting in Freedom of the Sons of God, 1966, pp. 29-30)

';The immediate future is certain to be filled with climatic events, for this old system is nearing its complete end. WITHIN A FEW YEARS AT MOST the final parts of Bible prophecy relative to these last days will undergo fulfillment resulting in the liberation of surviving mankind into Christ's glorious 1000 year reign!'; (Watchtower, January 5, 1968)

';Eight years from the Autumn of 1967 would bring us to the Autumn of 1975, fully 6,000 years into God's seventh day, his rest day.'; (Watchtower, May 1, 1968, p. 271)
';Claim?';

It is in the historical archives!

Since it is a matter of public record, we do not have to prove it. You can read it for yourself....

The fact that we are here today means that the world did not indeed end on those dates as propesied by the JW's.

Deuteronomy 18:20-22

Deuteronomy 13:1-5
I have to simply laugh at these anti-witnesses! How transparent they are! They are so quick to hand-pick quotes that seem to hold up their false accusations against us. Yet anyone who cares to can easily look up these quotes in context and see exactly what the publication actually said.

For example, above one of our accusers used quotes from the following Watchtower articles in an attempt to prove that we were claiming that 1975 was to be the end...Armageddon.

I looked up each of those articles and found the opposite to be the truth. I hereby Quote what the exact articles actually said regarding the coming of the last day (and if 1975 would be the last year):

(Watchtower, August 15, 1968, p. 499) This interesting article begins with ';WHAT about all this talk concerning the year 1975? Lively discussions, some based on speculation, have burst into flame during recent months among serious students of the Bible...

But wait! How do we know their calculations are correct? What basis is there for saying Adam was created nearly 5,993 years ago? Does ...the Holy Bible, give support and credence to such a conclusion?';

The article then considers the problem of knowing the actual date of Adam's creation, saying: ';Ussher’s chronology was only one of the many sincere efforts made during the past centuries to determine the time of Adam’s creation. A hundred years ago when a count was taken, no less than 140 different timetables had been published by serious scholars.';

Later on in this discussion of biblical dating, the article says: ';Bible chronology is an interesting study by which historic events are placed in their order of occurrence along the stream of time. The Watch Tower Society over the years has endeavored to keep its associates abreast with the latest scholarship that proves consistent with historic and prophetic events recorded in the Scriptures.';

Nowhere does this article prophesy that 1975 is the last year, in fact, it says, in paragraph 35, ';This is not the time to be toying with the words of Jesus that “concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matt. 24:36)

(Watchtower, January 5, 1968) There is no Watchtower article with this date. I tried to find their quote in a January 15th,1968 Watchtower but with no success. Did these anti-witness just make this quote up?

(Watchtower, May 1, 1968, p. 271) Rather than intimating that 1975 will be the final year, this article actually goes on to say: ';Does this mean that the year 1975 will bring the battle of Armageddon? No one can say with certainty what any particular year will bring.';

I would advise all who read these anti-witness quotes to actually look them up. You will be in for a big surprise!! You are being lied to BIG TIME.
Read their literature and you'll see it in black and white!

Listen to this audio segment from their assembly in April 1975:

Transcript of KEY points:

';...So you see, we don't have much left to this year nineteen hundred and seventy-five, It's gonna end at sundown on September the fifth, and that immediately after September the fifth why the Millennial Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ MUST begin in order to fulfill the final thousand years of God's great seventh creative day. And they're expecting the Great Tribulation to occur, and the destruction of Babylon the Great, and the annihilation of the political systems of this world, and then the binding of Satan and his demons, and their abyssing to occur before this year is ended, this year nineteen hundred and seventy-five. And immediately thereafter the thousand - year Reign of the Lord Jesus Christ to begin.';
JW's do not prophesy. we just relate what has already been prophesied in the bible. and the whole thing about the world ending in 1975 was not a prophesy either. i dont know where it came from, but it was just an idea people were throwing around.
You remind me of mormons. Both your churches have liars as founders and you both, as a group, will lie and deny every thing that makes you look bad.
Yet more inter-necine squabbling over some ludicrous point of dogma in an equally ludicrous hyped-up fairy story!

Do you guys realise what a bunch of nerds you look to sane and rational people?
When a prophecy does not come true, it is a false prophecy .plain and simple .
check it out here.
The same way they claim that 1+1+1=1

The same way they claim that Hell is a literal place of fiery torment even though Acts 2:27-32 shows that Jesus himself was in Hades?

The same way they claim that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny are real characters?

The same way they claim that Mary was immaculate and a perpetual Virgin even though she made Sin offerings and had other children?

I don't know, beats me.
Just like Jesus made a false prophecy about coming back before that generation died 2000 years ago.
very easily SINCE GODS KINGDOM ISNT HERE YET...THEY SAID IT WAS....GOOD GRIEF...SATAN IS RUNNINT HIS HE**hole
