Last Night I was Giving Lots of Examples of The Jehovah Witness Society Giving False Prophecies ?

I gave examples from their Watch Tower magazines and other publications, such as Armageddon and the end of the world occurring in 1914, 1915, 1921, 1925, 1931, 1941, and 1975. I also said the Society predicted the return of Abraham, Issac, Jacob and other men mentioned in the Book of Hebrews, chapter 11. I was getting a lot of comments on these postings. Then I asked the JW's in here if they could name just ';ONE'; prophecy the Watch Tower Society has made that came true. And there was silence!!

I know I myself couldn't find a true prophecy, even though I did find 100,s of false ones.

Isn't there a Jehovah Witness out there who can find at least one prophecy that came true in the last 140 years?

And if you can't find one prophecy that came true, why do you think I should pick up a Watch Tower magazine and follow you???Last Night I was Giving Lots of Examples of The Jehovah Witness Society Giving False Prophecies ?
I wish I could tell my mom this. Last time I tried she insulted me and called me an apostate. It was truly disheartening coming from my own mother. Can you please share those false prophecies? The elders in my mom's congregation are currently scaring the people by telling them this financial crisis is sign everything is about to get worse. It's quite disturbing to hear people scare others in such manner. Many have taken all their savings out of their banks and are preparing for Armageddon.Last Night I was Giving Lots of Examples of The Jehovah Witness Society Giving False Prophecies ?
The Watchtower Society does not prophecy. They only explain the ones found in the Bible. As time passes and more aspects of prophecy are fulfilled, there might be newly revealed information that has application.

Certain individuals, in their enthusiasm, may misinterpret what the Watchtower Society has truly said.

And yes, I am a Witness.
Even the prophets of old were wrong sometimes. Jesus and the Apostles said that the end of this system was close at hand. Even Jesus did not know the hour or day of Armageddon at that time. He does now. Because he will lead the war. God is inviting you to join us. But it is up to you to find the truth. Attitude is everything. Just because you think a prophecy has not come true, doesn't mean it has not. Do you even understand the prophecies? Or what they really mean?
Heh? Jehovah's Witnesses aren't prophets nor did we ever ';prophesy'; anything. Everything we believe in is found in the bible. Our purpose is to live lives that follow Jesus example. That includes preaching about the same Kingdom Jesus preached about. And waiting on the BIBLE prophesies to fulfill themselves in God's time.
why did you pick up the ';watch tower'; magizine in the first place 0.0
We are prophets now ?
Again tagging on the tails of Adam and Simone. They have given you the answers you seek. And they are from the Bible. I am so proud to be allowed to follow Jehovah Gods words, and follow in Jesus footsteps the best I can. And being Jesus ambassador. What a gift that is. We plant the seeds, Jehovah is the one that makes them grow. He knows the heart, we don't. So what ever you say about Jehovah's servants, his son, or Him. He knows already. And it's said in the Bible this would happen as Simone said, and pointed out with scriptures to back it up.

Have a great day!

We are just following the Bible. And what it says. If your mother did that to you, then she feels this in her heart. She does not want you to die, and would love for you to be saved as well. But, if you go against Jehovah God, then she will not choose your words over his.
Jehovah's Witnesses do NOT utter prophecy.

They have been wrong about various things but there is not a single thing on your list where they did not say before hand that they were not certain about what would happen and that they were speculating.

The WHOLE POINT about Jehovah's Witnesses is that they are progressing in knowledge through Bible research and so their theology changes as and when new insight emerges.

The Bible predicted this would happen among God's people at the time of the end.

This is why Jehovah's Witnesses no longer celebrate the pagan holidays like Christmas, Easter and Halloween. They no longer use the cross idol. They do not kill their fellow Christians in war etc.. and many other things that they have changed as the scriptures become ever clearer.

EDIT:

I did not say that Jehovah's Witnesses deny being a prophet. I said they do NOT utter prophecy.

A prophet (from the Bible) is one who communicates Jehovah's will to mankind.

A true prophet is one appointed by Jehovah. A false prophet is one who was not appointed.

Jehovah's Witnesses are a 'prophet' because they communicate Jehovah's will to the world. They are not inspired like many of the prophets of old but they do communicate those prophecies to mankind. Albeit in an imperfect way.

However they NEVER UTTER prophecy and they have NEVER claimed to.

That is a straw man argument. You put words into their mouths they never said.

They have ALWAYS said that their prediction may not be correct.

How can that be uttering inspired prophecy that is always 100% correct?

It in not. They are NOT false prophets.
Jehovah’s Witnesses do not claim to be inspired prophets. We have had wrong expectations, sure, but is it justified to call us false prophets? I don't believe so, but you're welcome to say and feel what you wish. Even the apostles of Jesus Christ, at times had some wrong expectations. ~ John 21:22, 23, Luke 19:11 %26amp; Acts 1:6. It's important to note that the Bible does not classify them with the “false prophets.”
This prophecy is being fulfilled now.

During the Lord’s day there have appeared “false apostles” who “speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.” (2 Corinthians 11:13; Acts 20:30; Revelation 1:10)

What methods do apostates use to achieve their aim? They often resort to distortions, half-truths, and outright falsehoods. Jesus knew that his followers would be victimized by those who would “tell all kinds of evil lies against” them. (Matthew 5:11, Today’s English Version) Such malicious opposers would tell what is not true with the intent to deceive others. The apostle Peter warned about apostates who would use “counterfeit words,” spread “deceptive teachings,” and ‘twist the Scriptures’ to their own ends. (2 Peter 2:3, 13; 3:16)

Soon an amazing event will take place.

“The ten horns that you saw, and the wild beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire.” (Revelation 17:16)

In a sudden, shocking move, the world’s political powers will turn on false religion and completely destroy her! What will prompt this action? The Bible book of Revelation answers: “God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought.” (Revelation 17:17)

Yes, God will call false religion to account for all the despicable acts she has committed in his name. In a stroke of perfect justice, he will use her political paramours as his instrument of execution.

What must you do if you do not want to share the fate of false religion? “

Get out of her, my people,” urges God’s messenger. (Revelation 18:4) Indeed, now is the time to flee from false religion! But to where can you flee? Not into atheism, since its future is also bleak. (2 Thessalonians 1:6-9)

The only haven is within true religion.

How can you identify true religion?

▪ PRACTICES LOVE

▪ TRUSTS GOD’S WORD

▪ STRENGTHENS FAMILIES AND UPHOLDS HIGH MORAL STANDARDS

In 235 lands, Jehovah’s Witnesses do not just preach the Bible’s moral standards—they live by them.

I urge you to ask Jehovah’s Witnesses to help you learn what God requires of you so that you can worship him acceptably. Now is the time to act. Do not delay. The end of false religion is near!—Zephaniah 2:2, 3

Why Jehovah’s Witnesses Keep on the Watch

“Keep on the watch . . . because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.”—MATTHEW 24:42.

TO EVERY servant of God—whether young or up in years, whether newly dedicated or with a long record of service—the Bible’s admonition applies: “Keep on the watch”! (Matthew 24:42) Why is this important?

2 Toward the end of his ministry on earth, Jesus foretold the sign of his invisible presence in Kingdom power. (Matthew, chapters 24 and 25) He clearly described that time of his royal presence—and events in fulfillment of prophecy show that he was enthroned as King in the heavens in 1914. He also pointed to a circumstance that would then test the genuineness of our faith. This was with reference to the time when he would go into action as Executioner to destroy the present wicked system during the great tribulation that Jesus said: “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.” It was with that in mind that he said: “Keep on the watch, therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.”—Matthew 24:36, 42.

3 Our not knowing the day and the hour when the great tribulation will begin requires that if we claim to be Christians, we should live as true Christians every day. Will the way you are using your life result in the Lord’s approval when the great tribulation arrives? Or if death comes first, will he remember you as one who loyally served Jehovah down to the end of your present life?—Matthew 24:13; Revelation 2:10.

Early Disciples Endeavored to Be Watchful

4 Jesus Christ himself set the finest example of spiritual watchfulness. He prayed frequently and fervently to his Father. (Luke 6:12; 22:42-44) When confronted with trials, he relied heavily on the direction contained in the Scriptures. (Matthew 4:3-10; 26:52-54) He did not allow himself to be distracted from the work that Jehovah had assigned him. (Luke 4:40-44; John 6:15) Would those who viewed themselves as Jesus’ followers be just as watchful?

5 At times, even Jesus’ apostles faltered. As a result of overeagerness and wrong ideas, they had to face up to disappointments. (Luke 19:11; Acts 1:6) Before they learned to rely fully on Jehovah, sudden trials threw them off balance. Thus, when Jesus was arrested, his apostles fled. Later that night, Peter, out of fear, repeatedly denied even knowing Christ. The apostles had not yet taken to heart Jesus’ counsel: “Keep on the watch and pray continually.” (Matthew 26:41, 55, 56, 69-75) After his resurrection Jesus used the Scriptures to strengthen their faith. (Luke 24:44-48) And when it appeared that some of them might put the ministry that had been entrusted to them in second place, Jesus strengthened their motivation to concentrate on the more important work.—John 21:15-17.

6 Earlier, Jesus had cautioned his disciples that they were to be no part of the world. (John 15:19) He had also counseled them not to lord it over one another but to serve together as brothers. (Matthew 20:25-27; 23:8-12) Did they heed his counsel? Did they keep to the fore the work he had given them?

7 As long as the apostles were on the scene, they safeguarded the congregation. History testifies that the early Christians were not involved in the political affairs of the Roman Empire and that they had no exalted clergy class. On the other hand, they were ardent proclaimers of God’s Kingdom. By the end of the first century, they had witnessed throughout the Roman Empire, making disciples in Asia, Europe, and North Africa.—Colossians 1:23.
Bible prophecies have come true and will yet come true.

Matthew 24:14 said that the good news would be preached throughout the earth. That is taking place. Has it taken place to God's satisfaction? We don't know but because the end hasn't come yet, then we can assume that it has not.

God only reveals to us what we need to know at any given moment. We take what we know and sometimes we speculate on what it could mean. Sometimes those speculations make it into print and are taken by persons like you as prophecies. Yet no one in our organization has ever claimed to be infallible or inspired by God's holy spirit in the same way as the Bible writers and prophets of old were, that I am aware of. If they did they were wrong and it was long before my time and the proper adjustments to thinking have been made.

I don't know what you believe or even if you believe anything. I believe the first century Christians were also limited in what they knew. They had no idea about the time of the end of the entire world. Daniel said that it would not be until the time of the end that many things would be revealed. [see Daniel 12:4]

In Acts 20:29,30 it says, ';I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among YOU and will not treat the flock with tenderness, and from among YOU yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.';

You may believe that Jehovah's Witnesses are those people that speak twisted things. We however defend the fact that we have made and continue to make efforts to conform to the ways of first century Christians being no part of the world, not accepting the trinity, and seeing the need to preach the word door to door etc.

Consider what occurred in the first century. When Jesus was about to ascend to heaven, his apostles eagerly asked: “Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?” They wanted to enjoy all the blessings of the Kingdom right away, but Jesus said: “It does not belong to you to get knowledge of the times or seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction.”—Acts 1:6, 7.

Again, God reveals to us what we need to know. If you read in detail why Jehovah's Witnesses thought the end would come at this time or that time you will see that for the most part their conclusions were based on sound reasoning that COULD have pointed to those times. In the instances that I am familiar with since the early 1970s never was it dogmatically said that anything would take place. Never did anyone in our organization claim to have had a dream or a vision or a revelation to that effect and if they did, they would likely have been put out of the organization without some scriptural proof their assertions.

I don't believe we will ever know when the end is coming until it comes. Even when the political system turns on the religious system and even when the commercial system collapses, that will be part of the great tribulation but it won't be the end. It won't be Armageddon. It will culminate in Armageddon but how long will that take? The Bible only says, ';unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved'; Matthew 24:22 How short is short? We don't know.

I do know this: While the predictions [not prophecies] of Jehovah's Witnesses may have been wrong a number of times eventually the end will come. And I know that we are living in the time of the end. I also believe that Jehovah's Witnesses practice Christianity closer to the way the first Christians did than any other ';Christian'; religion. That is what identifies them as true believers.

As I started to say earlier. Everything revealed to us is on a need to know basis. God has never given us the complete truth. At least not yet. During the thousand year rule of Christ he will. Revelation says scrolls will be opened and all will be judged on the basis of how they apply the things in those scrolls to themselves. Until then man is far from perfect whether he has the true religion or not. Ancient Israel failed to keep God's commandments. They made many mistakes. The first Christians did not understand all the things that Christian in the time of the end would understand per Daniel. The foretold apostasy produced many sects and the Christian religion [now divided into many sects] drifted away from the true beliefs as taught by Christ. Beliefs like immortality of the soul and torment in hell fire forever and ever made it into the church. this falling away was actually an act of justice on God's part. The miraculous gifts of the holy spirit ceased when the apostles died off. Gifts like the gift of knowledge and the gift of prophecy. This is Satan's system God was allowing him free reign so to speak. Yet during all this time since before Israel there have always been faithful ones. Even in the sects of Christendom down through the ages. But now in this time of the end after God began taking out of all nations a people for his name, his people still are not perfect and they also don't have the miraculous gift of the holy spirit, the gift of prophesying.

So while the society has claimed to be a prophet, they never claimed to be infallible prophets.

[Sorry, I'd like to say more but I have to go to work.]
Jehovah's witnesses do NOT prophesy...they interpret the bible and sometimes that interpretation needs adjustment.

They do not claim to be infallible nor do they claim to know everything.

Through study, meditation and prayer, the governing body peer into the scripture for understanding.

The article quoted was from an 1972 Watchtower - our thinking has been adjusted (and is still being adjusted) since then. This is 30 years later! There have been many adjustments since the witnesses first became a cohesive group...e.g. smoking was once tolerated but not now...likewise belief in the crucifixion...ditto birthdays, Christmas, Easter, the antiChrist, etc. There are many more examples that I may now just take for granted but you get the point?

Bible prophecies that the witnesses have identified as having application today are:

That 1914 saw the beginning of the last days of this system - in Matt 24 describes a war that was unlike all wars.

Matt 24:12 - an increase in lawlessness

Matt 24: 7 - famine on an unprescedented scale

Matt 24:14 - preaching of the last days on a global scale

2 Peter 3:4 - ridiculers, rejecting proof about the last days

Those that are yet to be fulfilled:

Destruction of the world empire of false religion (rev 17)

A global proclamation of ';peace %26amp; security'; (1 Thessolonians 5:3)

Armageddon (Rev 16:4) - Gods war against the nations

Psalms 27:39 - the righteous will possess the earth

I cannot stress strongly enough that Jehovahs Witnesses DO NOT CLAIM TO FORETELL THE FUTURE. To say otherwise is at best a misunderstanding, at worse - a lie.
JWs according to the Proclaimers book actually teach that it is good to make a false prophecy because it shows you are on the look out for Christ's coming and the further fulfillment of prophecy.

They view false prophecying also as just having wrong expectations, even though they publish their wrong expectations in Billions of magazines in hundreds of languages and intimidate those members who don't agree.

I haven't even read their comments below but I already know what they are arguing.

One JW actually told me that a TRUE PROPHET CAN MAKE A FALSE PROPHECY!!!???!!!. Of course when I emailed her to see where she got that she did not answer me back.

I se that as usual JWs are just trying to argue the definition of prophecy.

Deut. 18:20-22: The biblical definition of false prophecy is if you

1) Speak in Gods name. (Check, JWs do this, they admit it)

2) What you say (it is presumed from the context to refer to something said about the FUTURE) does not come true.

EXCUSES that Deut. 18:20-22 does not allow for:

NO EXCUSES ALLOWED FOR according to Deut. 18:20-22

You are not allowed to say that you don't claim to be a prophet, because whether you are a prophet or not is decided by whether or not you actually prophesied. If you meet the definition of having made a prophesy according to Deut. 18 the guess what? You don't need to CLAIM anything at al, YOU ARE OFFICIALLY a prophet if you have committed #s 1) and 2) above.

You cannot excuse yourself by saying you were just staying on the watch or getting a little antsy and decided to just go with something off the top of your head or manipulate scripture to come up with some cockmaney date. Gee, if I could excuse fornication because I was a little too ';over eager!!!'; that would be awesome.

JWs don't see false prophecy as a big sin at all. They think it is a virtue, or they try to come up with some non Biblical definition of what a prophecy is.

Like scuba steve said, they made predictions but not prophecies!!! hahahahahahahaha

Hey Steve ya wanna know the difference between a prediction and a prophecy? When you predict something and involve the name of God (for example saying that you got the prediction from the Bible, which is equivalent to saying that GOD himself made the prophesy, which is exactly what JWs have done) then it is a PROPHECY.

Here's an example of a JW prophesy:

';The year 1925 is more borne out in the scriptures than 1914.''; In this quote from the Watchtower magazine, the Faithful and Discreet Slave claims that Abraham Isaac and Jacob would come back to earth and live in Beth Sarim, a house they built and deeded for them in San Diego.

This is a classic false prophesy.

Now, if they had said that they just came up with the idea out of their own thick sculls, then it would have been a prediction. But the FDS claimed that this was derived from the scriptures and that God himself had revealed it to them as current light and spiritual food.

What if you did not believe the prophesy back them in 1925? Well, you would be labeled an apostate, and although they didn't disfellowship back then, you would have certainly been marked and branded as spiritually weak.

So they did not MERELY EXPECT something in PRIVATE conversation with their lord as the disciples did. No, they published hundreds of millions of copies of this prophecy and intimidated those who disagreed.

Then they had the evilneess to actually attribute these false words to GOD HIMSELF. Yes, THEY BLAMED GOD FOR MAKING THE FALSE PROPHESY AND SAID IT CAME FROM HIS BOOK THE BIBLE!!!!

Could there be a more disgusting display of evil lying false prophesy than that?

If JWs are not false prophets, then who are the false prophets? Can a JW name one other group and name the specific false prophesy of that group, and why it qualifies as a false prophesy?

It takes a seriously deluded person to not realize that JWs are the consumate false prophets in all of history. And I just considered ONE of their HUNDREDS of false prophecies.

I challenege any of JWs to email me for further proof of false prophecies.

Yes Christianity in general including the JWs are not paying attention to what they read in the Bible...

According to the Bible, ONE SUREST SIGN of Jesus coming back and the Rapture™ is the slaughter of innocent children in the end of days! Some Christian preachers explain away this gross fact in the Bible… The Bible writers made it into a pattern that before any major event in Bible stories innocent children get slaughtered! This is a primitive trick to scare the heck out of religious people to catch their attention! When Israel was liberated from Egypt God had ALL the innocent first born children of Egyptian parents slaughtered on the spot! When Jesus was born ALL the innocent male children 2 years of age and under were slaughtered in a way that not even God the Holy Ghost could possibly comfort the grieving mothers! (Mat 2:18) So it will be when Jesus comes back a lot of liberal Churches will loose ALL their CHILDREN… Jesus will have them slaughtered not in Iraq, but in the Churches!

Revelation 2:23 (NIV) (Jesus says in his REVELATION for the last days) I WILL STRIKE HER CHILDREN DEAD* (*Just for the heck of it! Hey, No abortionist can beat Jesus at killing babies… AMEN???... Jesus is doing the killing of the innocent children to announce his return and at the same time teach everybody a lesson on WHO IS THE BOSS! In our society today Christians are very selective in what they preach from the Bible! Their PRO-LIFE bit is an afford to dissociate themselves from this kind of Jesus’ REVELATION…!) Then ALL THE CHURCHES WILL KNOW that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.

I’m the BOSS says Jesus Christ the LORD and I take it on the kids in the Churches! Jesus is promoting the killing of children of the wrong faith BY EXAMPLE! His religion is as primitive as the Islamic Fundamentalists, although what a horrific truth...! They don’t make any sacred pronouncement to KILL CHILDREN like Jesus does! Please correct me if I am wrong! Jesus’ infanticide mania comes from way back when God the Father highly favored anyone killing the innocent children of Israel’s enemies. Fortunately, Israel doesn’t go for this kind of God anymore!

Psalm 137:8-9 (NIV) O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us* (*Israel) --he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

Jesus knows that the enemies of God ought to be killed in their infancy when it is easier to get rid of them! In Bible times hardly anybody practiced abortions because it was easier and much safer to “dash the infants against the rocks” after they are born like God suggests in his Holy Word the Bible! Unwanted children were put out without any accountability right after they were born like it was done in Egypt to the willing Hebrew ladies. Christianity is not much of a civilized religion at all! Today, it is pure Christian PRO-LIFE bigotry of the worst kind that makes Christianity acceptable in our religious controlled society…!

Luke 19:27 (NIV) (Jesus is very excited telling this story… most Christians prefer to ignore!) But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them–bring them here and kill them in front of me.

Jesus is suggesting the slaughter by drowning of anybody causing a Christian who is weak in the Faith to stumble (Mat 18:6)… Jesus is also suggesting the shedding of body parts to make it into the Kingdom of Heaven! (Mat 5:29-30), INCLUDING male castration (Mat 19:12). BTW male castration is forbidden by the old God’s “Be fruitful and multiply” and other laws against erectile dysfunction. Most Christians today don’t pay attention to Jesus’ gory suggestions, but throughout history many of them got castrated anyway (See Wikipedia, castration). A lot of people paid with their lives for disobeying the Clergy, too including the witches and slaves that were killed here in America ONE NATION UNDER GOD! The first criminals to be sentenced to death by hanging in Christian America were witches! That was the faith of the founding fathers of our great nation! It is significant that an African Witch Hunter from Kenya laid hands on Sarah Palin so she can be protected against any witchcraft in all her political endeavors!
