A faithful slave of God does not make false prophecies .JW?

Here is a few of the false prophecies of the Watchtower organization .

1899 ';...the 鈥榖attle of the great day of God Almighty' (Revelation 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced.'; (The Time Is at Hand, page 101 - 1908 edition).

1918 ';Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection.'; (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, page 89.)

1922 ';The date 1925 is even more distinctly indicated by the Scriptures than 1914.'; (The Watchtower 9/1/22, page 262.)

1923 ';Our thought is, that 1925 is definitely settled by the Scriptures. As to Noah, the Christian now has much more upon which to base his faith than Noah had upon which to base his faith in a coming deluge.'; (The Watchtower, PAGE 106 4/1/23.)

1931 ';There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1917, 1918, and 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time...and they also learned to quit fixing dates.'; (Vindication, page 338.)

1941 ';Receiving the gift, the marching children clasped it to them, not a toy or plaything for idle pleasure, but the Lord's provided instrument for most effective work in the remaining months before Armageddon.'; (The Watchtower, 9/15/41, page 288.)

1968 ';True, there have been those in times past who predicted an 鈥榚nd to the world', even announcing a specific date. Yet nothing happened. The 鈥榚nd' did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying. Why? What was missing?...Missing from such people were God's truths and evidence that he was using and guiding them.'; (Awake, 10/8/68.)

I agree with the final quote in the Awake magazine. The previous false prophecies of the Watchtower organization demonstrate that it is lacking God's truths. If it is, then it is not the faithful and discreet slave.

Does this sound like a faithful slave of God A faithful slave of God does not make false prophecies .JW?
I know of old JWs who sold everything they owned back in the seventies because they were taught 'the end of the world is coming'. They still say this every week at their meetings. They basically use whatever scripture they can twist into backing up their crazy teachings.A faithful slave of God does not make false prophecies .JW?
Its all apart of the 'partially revealed' minutia, that attaches God to darkness by saying the light he gives is dim, then gets lighter, or is it more they are making up as the go along?
Prophecy these days is known as schizophrenia.

Good Morning, or afternoon for me morning and still at the coffee cup.

1st Peter says this 2nd Peter 1:21. However what prophecies are spoken of by Peter.

Wouldn't it be the prophecies about God's Kingdom and Jesus Christ. Jesus said this at Luke 22:44 that the words written about Jesus must be fulfilled.

One prophecy about Jesus was that he would be given all authority Daniel 7:13-14. Jehovah's Witnesses preach that Jesus is not God but the one given all authority as God's anointed one.

Many religions preach that the soul is immortal. In Genesis Jehovah God never gave mankind immortality.

It was another God that said you will not die, which is an out right lie or false prophecy.

So if Jehovah's Witnesses are being accused of false Prophecy because they misunderstood the exact date when Jesus would bring Kingdom benefits to man, that is unjustified in that Jehovah's people continue to preach Jesus as King of God's kingdom.

It would be safe to say that it would not take much Research to find those in responsible in any religious organization that has printed their misunderstanding of scripture.

However Jehovah's Witnesses have also printed new light on such things as dates, however they still champion Jesus as King of God's Kingdom that will bring everlasting life in a paradise earth for eternity to those who exercise faith in Jesus shed blood.

The Apostles and disciples also preached extensively about God's Kingdom as do Jehovah's people of today Acts through Revelation.

The entire world is given a Witness about this Kingdom by Jehovah's Witnesses. Have a good day.
You do not know what a false prophecy is.

Prophecy : a divinely inspired utterance or revelation

Jehovah's Witnesses long with these Church's did not claim to be divinely inspired, so these cannot be false prophecies. It is however a false prediction based on Bible interpretation, which is Irrelevant of what makes a false prophet.

THE ISSUE IN RELATIONSHIP TO THE LUTHERAN CHURCH

One of the most prominent of the Protestant religious bodies is the Lutheran* Church. The progenitor of the Lutheran Church was the Reformer, Martin Luther, who was born in 1483 and died in 1546. Deteriorating events during the 1500s in Europe led Luther to predict that the end of the world was imminent. According to one authority** Luther stated. ';For my part, I am sure that the day of judgment is just around the corner. It doesn鈥檛 matter that we don't know the precise day... perhaps someone else can figure it out. But it is certain that time is now at an end.'; Another researcher*** noted: ';For Luther there was a clear pattern of degeneration in world history... by correlating historical events with Biblical prophecies Luther could announce the nearness of the final cataclysm -- and deliverance for believers -- with relative certainty... (Luther) was thus sure that his own time was the 鈥榯ime of the end' referred to in Daniel 12, when the meaning of these prophecies was to be revealed.';

* According to the Handbook of Denominations in the United States, Sixth Edition, by Frank S. Mead, there were eight different Lutheran religious bodies in the United States in 1979, among them were ';the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod'; and the ';American Lutheran Church';.

Continuing the heralding of imminent disaster after Luther's death, collections of his prophecies appeared regularly. Some were brief pamphlets like ';The Several Prophetic Statements of Doctor Martin Luther, the Third Elias'; (1552). In this material, Lutheran writers stated that*, ';Luther had prophesied that after he died the Gospel would disappear';. A zealous Lutheran named Adam Nachenmoser wrote a large volume titled Prognostican Theologicum in about 1584. In this work, Nachenmoser attempted to interpret all the prophecies in the Bible. In one case, he predicted that**, ';...In 1590 the Gospel would be preached to all nations and a wonderful unity would be achieved... the last day would then be close at hand. Nachenmoser offered numerous conjectures about the date; 1635 seemed most likely...';.

Another Lutheran leader, Andreas Osiander, wrote Conjectures on the Last Days and the End of the World (Latin 1544 and German in 1545). It is stated in this work*** that... ';The downfall of the Antichrist was projected for 1672. A period of some sixteen years would follow during which the Gospel would be preached throughout the world. At the end of this time, just as people began to think that all was well and they could live as they pleased, a terrible punishment would befall them and the Lord would come like a thief in the night.';

All of these Lutheran predictions failed.

THE ISSUE IN RELATIONSHIP TO THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH

The mammoth Roman Catholic Church also has a history of predictions that never occurred.

Gregory I, who was Pope from 590-604 C.E., predicted that the end of the world was imminent in a letter he wrote to Ethelbert, a European monarch. He advised **** ';Further, we also wish Your Majesty to know, as we have learned from the words of Almighty God in Holy Scriptures, that the end of the present world is already near and that the unending Kingdom of the Saints is approaching. As this same end of the world is drawing nigh, many unusual things will happen - climatic changes, terrors from heaven... All these things are not to come in our own days, but they will all follow upon our times.';

Later,* ';About the year 950, Adso, a monk in a monastery of Western Franconia, wrote a treatise on Antichrist, in which he assigned a later time to his coming, and also to the end of the world... 鈥楢 Frank King', he says, 鈥榳ill rewrite the Roman Empire, and abdicate on Mount Olivet, and on the dissolution of his kingdom, the Antichrist will be revealed.'';.

No major study on this subject would be complete without reference to the predictions of Roman Catholic Abbot, Joachim of Fiore, a celebrated writer and clergyman. One authority** observed, ';The most original prophetic thinker of the high medieval period was the Calabrian Abbot Joachim of Fiore (1131-1202)... In his most influential writings, Joachim interpreted history through the Bible as a progressive unfolding of three stages, each of which was ruled over by one person of the Trinity. The age of the Father, an age of fear and obedience under the Law, had been consummated in the coming of Christ. The Age of the Son was the present epoch of faith and tutelage
