When other computer programmers and I were working in the 70s %26amp; 80s on programs requiring date, we ignored the fact that in 20-30 years we would have to be able to tell whether the date year started with 19 or 20.

I suspect that the people writing the prophecies in the Bible, even if divinely inspired by God, were not asking ';And what will happen in 2010 years after the supposed birth of Christ?'; but were targeting a few years down the road like in their own life time or not much longer.

Therefore it is not a matter of true or false in an absolute sense, but what the prophecy applied to something at the time and whether it has application or is nonsense for any time in the last or next 1000 years.
All Bible prophecies are true and will come true. Remember in the Bible it clearly states several events that were foretold many years before the actual event taking place.

Take for example the story of Ciro and the river drying up and the soldiers using the river bed dryness or low level of the water to attack the kingdom. Not sure of the name of the river or the king but it is in the Bible just cant recall right now. All other signs of the end of times like hunger, wars, earthquakes, etc.
Simply put, the only way to predict the future is by using the scientific method to determine a scientific law. All religious prophecies are just nonsense.

The so called Bible prophecies are written so general and there are so many of them that sooner or later you can find that some seem to match some event. Then someone claims that the prophecy has been fulfilled and ignores all the prophecies that are not fulfilled. Another person can say the opposite and there is no method to determine who is right.
Prophecies, biblical in nature or not, are generally false. Those that do come true, tend to be by chance or tend to be self-fulling prophecies.

Prophecies tend to be vague, and applicable to pretty much anything. Nostradomus was well known for his vague quatrains. Revelations? So much metaphor, the stories can literally be applied to any number of claimed prophecies.

Then again, if people really believe the bible to be 100% true words of God, or believe it to somehow hold future knowledge not otherwise obtainable, no amount of reason or intellect is going to help them out of their delusion.
bible prophecy = 100% true.

why ...

ALL prophecies have come to pass in their due time.

God does not lie.

other books that claim to have prophecies .. from God .... believe me, they're NOT bc the bible is HOLY and it is God's WORD to mankind ... no other book carries God's Word to mankind.
i think all sort of prophecy is bs. of all the millions of texts that are written down they can just make the text ressemble a sittuation that happens at any point in history.
ALL Bible prophesy is 100% true.

The majority has already taken place in one form and is also still to come in another.
There are many prophecies in the Bible. They are all true.

Some have fulfilled, some have yet to be fulfilled.
Just to let you know the 1 Cor guy up top is not using the scripture in context and the translation he's using is not a good one.
The prophesies are vague and are easy to attach to almost anything.
Yes, they are true, and are happening now.
uh, which bible prophecy?
