Jehovah's Witness Why can people trust what you say about the scriptures when you had so many false prophecies

Jehovah's Witness Why can people trust what you say about the scriptures when you had so many false prophecies????Jehovah's Witness Why can people trust what you say about the scriptures when you had so many false prophecies
1872 Beginning of the millennium. Wrong! Watchtower publications later changed the date to 1975, another date in which it did not happen.

•1874 Christ's second coming. Nothing happened. The Bible says His second coming will be seen by all.

•1914 All world governments to be overthrown. God will glorify His people and govern the world.

•1915 When man's governments were not replaced by God's in 1914, the date was changed to 1915. The Watchtower Society later admitted these prophecies ';had not been fulfilled.';

•1918 End of Gentile times, the churches to be destroyed.

•1920 The mountains, republics, and kingdoms were to disappear.

•1925 The kingdom was to be established in Palestine. Faithful men of the Old Testament were to return. It was later admitted that this and the 1918 prediction were wrong.

•1929 A house was built for the return of the Old Testament faithful. It was sold in 1948 because they did not return.

•1932 The Watchtower stated that the date for the overthrow of Christendom had been moved up from 1925 (previously 1918) to 1932 and that the overthrow did not happen in 1932 either.

•1975 Since the Millennium had not begun in 1872, the date was changed to 1975. Again nothing happened.

I WILL SAY JUST ONE FALSE PROPHECY IS ENOUGHT TO MAKE ALARM BELLS RING BUT WHEN WE GET SO MANY IT HAS TO RAISE QUESTIONS WHO ARE THEY REALLY INSPIRED BY.

No one who has known what is the history of JW's will want to be part of them unless they have been brainwashed into believing it.Jehovah's Witness Why can people trust what you say about the scriptures when you had so many false prophecies
The fact that the only nwt committee member with ANY Hebrew or Greek language study had ONLY studied the rather different CLASSICAL Greek rather than the ';Koine'; Greek of the scriptures certainly explains some of their erroneous teachings.

... For instance, the meaning of σταυρος (cross) is known to have changed between Classical and Koine Greek. In Classical times it DID mean a ';torture stake,'; but the use and thus the meaning of the word changed through the next couple centuries.
Well firstly, show some of these so called false prophecies.

Secondly, the Apostles, who were with Christ himself made many mistakes in doctrinal issues, while Jesus was alive. He repeatedly had to correct them. Should we not trust them because of this??

I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Ultimately, people must weigh what they here against what the Bible itself says.
exactly what prophecy that ';we '; have made has not come true?
Because they are just right. Everyone makes mistakes. Sorry.
Looks like somebody is a little OCD...

Have you considered taking up a hobby?
Dates we are not so good at. Over all though we are on the money. For instance, we know we are living in the last days of this wicked system in accordance with Matthew 24 and 2 Timothy 3. This since 1914 has happened on a world wide scale harder than any time in human history. It has only gotten worse since that time. Scientists and other experts have agreed the earth can not take much more.

The problem with dates is people with good hearts can not consider men harming men getting worse than what they currently see. The problem: they do. So they point to a date. Say 1975. According to Bible chronology, that was the 6,000 year point from the creation of Adam. OK. We were not promised this wicked world would be ended exactly then. Every one wanted it to be then, but it was not Jehovah's schedule. Not everyone of good heart had come out of false religion then. Look at our numbers. Millions have since 1975 come out and our in line for eternal life on a paradise earth. If Jehovah had paid attention to us, these would have died. So what a pleasure it is to be wrong about that!

Are we wrong about what Jehovah expects of humans? NO.

Are we wrong about sticking only to the Bible instead of theories of pagan men? NO.

Are we wrong about living in the last days of this wicked and corrupt system, according to Jehovah's timetable? NO.
