If an organization's leaders make false prophecies doesn't that mean they are false prophets?

Okay if a leader of a religion makes prophecies and they fail or they change them yet claim they were guided by God, doesn't that make them a false prophet? If an organization's leaders make false prophecies doesn't that mean they are false prophets?
The leaders, anyway, not necessarily the entire organization. But yes, to answer your question. If an organization's leaders make false prophecies doesn't that mean they are false prophets?
Making false prophecies would mean you claim that God told you directly something directly on what was going to happen yet it didn't occur. Making a false prediction based on false bible interpretation doesn't make you a false prophet because if it did, all churches would be labeled a false prophet, since all have done it.
Yes and I am stealing this questions and the answers to put into my book because this is one reason I am writing my book. thanks for asking the questions. l have worked with numerous of preachers who will change the bible around to fit into their belief and teach it so boy l know it happens and agree 10000000000% they are false prophets.
Yes.

Deuteronomy 18:21 You may say to yourselves, ';How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD ?'; 22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.
I see a lot of churches claim to have authority they don't have an explanation for where they got it - except that they gave it to themselves by telling themselves they read the bible right....and a lot of false prophets in a lot of christian churches I've been to....
Yes, in a very literal sense.

I am not sure that the Biblical term was intended to describe the garden variety televangelist/charlatan.

I suspect (but cannot be sure) that the term was meant for very influential individuals that fill your description.

Interesting question!
Does yes, but the false prophet has no reason to stop lying, he just makes new excuses.
Absolutely
That would make them false prophets.
I would say that the answer is yes.

Love in Christ,

Michelle
Of course!
