Documentation of false prophecies.....?

Has anyone ever done a comprehensive search (documented) of false prophecies? I am referring to religious prophecy? Are you aware that there are men and women today, mostly on TV, who regularly prophesy about this and that? As far as I could tell years ago, NONE of their prophecies came to pass. I am largely referring to the 'health and wealth' preachers, and also the JW's, 7th Day Adventists, Mormons, Christian Science, ad infinitum. I am most interested in whether or not any of you have done sudh a study, and what you learned from it ????Documentation of false prophecies.....?
Remember only one of the prophecies has to be wrong for it to be a false prophet....Documentation of false prophecies.....?
God said ';let my word be true and every mans a lie!';
Well there are false prophets out there. Jesus told us there would be. They are wolves in sheeps clothing.

My discernment of a true Prophet of the LORD God, is that they don't contradict with the Holy Bible %26amp; also, they do hear from the LORD in vision or voice or sense, etc... The LORD God of the Holy Bible.

Because the Lord told me to listen to Kim Clement, I found out that he had prophecied some answers to my prayers. So? Also, the Lord is the one who confirmed to me he is in the Lords Prophetic ministry for us today. And they usually come to past some how. But also, to understand, (like in Jonah) a Prophet could prophecy something like a judgment, but if the people repent, then God will repent of the judgment. Jeus said that a greater Prophet than Jonas was here. In that Jesus atoned for our sins. Jonas brought to judgment to Nineveh %26amp; the people repented %26amp; God forgave Neneveh. Jesus forgives us when we receive His atonement for our sins. http://www.kimclement.com .

If anyone prophecies Jesus is returning at this %26amp; this a time (like Josephe Smith did %26amp; Ellen White did %26amp; JWs did) and this didn't come to past, then you know this person didn't hear this thing from the LORD. Actually, at my husbands childhood church, a guy had a dream %26amp; declared this also, %26amp; then looked stupid when it didn't happen.

See? Jesus said that no one knows the time or the hour. One thing that needs to happen before the end is that the Word of God is published %26amp; preached in all the world.

But a Prophet prophecies for us today, %26amp; for us to receive the victory, we still need to receive it. Like one prophecy is that the new President will be a Christian. This is what I pray for. And I receive this prophetic word. Prophecied that the right to abortion will end with this next 2008 election. That the Dr. Seus book 'Horton hears a 'Who'' will be an instrument to help end abortion.

Also, http://www.elijahlist.com has many prophetic articles on there that is free. Then they have a lot of adds to buy books on stuff like this.
Perhaps in regards to the television envangelicals who are making these prophecies, ';their profits have mislead them'; (all pun intended).

As regards the Jehovas Witnesses, thier founder predicted the world would end on three different occasions. I believe he was incorrect.
I listen to some i think one you can trust is perry stone
All the stuff said by Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson after 9/11 come immediately to mind. I don't need to do a study-- I'm a regular over at randi.org . We're still waiting for Sylvia Brown to step up.
I don't pay much attention to ones on TV, since I don't watch it. But I have heard some teach contrary to the Word. You need to listen closely, and check it out. It sounds good, but it isn't what my Bible says. Prosperity sounds good, but Solomon warned against it, as well as Jesus. So if the wisest man in the world, and The Creator warn about it, it is important to listen.
cults who slap the christian name on themselves are false prophets. men can just prophecy and say it came from god when in fact it's just ramblings of an attention seeker. the real prophecy that has actually proven to be true, comes from the bible, these prophecies have been coming true since the early bible days until now and there are still more to come. the bible warns of these false prophets, and teaches to stay clear of them.
I don't listen to TV ';prophets'; so what they say is moot to me.
yes, I have done somewhat of a study...I do know there are tests of a prophet, one of which you touched on. Their prophecies or predictions have to be 100% accurate or else they are not a true prophet. In the Bible there are ';conditional'; prophecies...for example, Ninevah. Jonah preached what God had said to them....and they turned back to God...the prophecy did not come to pass because of that. Sure did make Jonah feel silly...actually MAD! So, I think we need to keep this in mind when looking at other ';prophets';. Have you done a study on this and if so, I would be interested in what you have found. Do you believe in all the prophets from the Bible? I do believe there is to be the spirit of prophecy in God's church in the last days. Rev. 12:17 and Rev. 19:10.
I've seen some true ones but not false ones from Charismatic circles.
As you know, I have been studying such things for a very long time. One thing that so many cults love to do is to put forth ';end of the world'; prophecies, complete with deadlines. This tool is used both in the recruitment of and in maintaining their members. It is a fear tactic, plain and simple. They convince the new recruit that their only salvation is by attaching themselves to their sole truth because the end is coming soon. If you are already a member, they have you convinced that you cannot be saved apart from their organization and brand of truth.

Those outside are depicted as uninformed, perishing, and even under the control of Satan. Naturally, anyone inside does not desire to fall in with such people by leaving the safety of the organization. A parallel is drawn between the organization and Noah's ark: Inside are the few survivors and everyone on the outside dies. They completely forget about the passages of Scripture that speak of God's grace and mercy and how He desires that none perish but ALL attain eternal life.

They also all focus on a system of works by which to attain salvation, thereby negating the Grace of God and the free gift of His Son that is obtained by believing on Him, not by striving for some righteous standard that can never be attained by imperfect humans.

They seem to forget that was the whole point of the Mosaic Law, to show us that no matter how much we may strive to attain righteousness on our own merit, it could never happen without the provision of Calvary.
I did a little bit once. At a library book sale about 15 years ago, I spent a whole nickel on Jean Dixon's book My Life And Predictions. She wrote this in 1970, while still working as Nixon's astrologer. Reading it 20 years later, none of her predictions had come to pass, and she was very wrong about many things. Quite an enjoyable read!

Try to find books that these folks wrote many years ago. maybe through inter-library loan. Their predictions will speak for themselves.
Well MOST of Dave Wilkerson's prophecies contained in THE VISION have come to pass since the book was first published ca 1970
';Same as it ever was...';
That's what the bible warns us about in the last days,'; there will be many false profits.'; So we need to know the bible so we don't get sucked in and get misled.
