How can JWs convince anyone that Russell and Rutherford never had a single false teaching or prophecy?

Did not they have too many to ignore them? How can JWs convince anyone that Russell and Rutherford never had a single false teaching or prophecy?
I love the message of the kingdom as Desert Rose presented it .It is awesome that is why I became a JW 35 years ago .That filled my heart with joy and made me secure and happy.

What happened to make me leave ? I can no longer believe that they have it right (although beautiful in presentation) I have lived through too much to belive what they say anymore.

I was there in person and still have the tapes I made at assemblies and conventions .I know what was said and I am sure that they said it.

Yet the cover up

.I might have gotten through the error in prophecy but the cover up was unnessesary shifting the erroe on to a scape goat. .

To twist what was said out right and to make it sound like some of us were just plan acting on our own without their lead is not true.We did not assume anything our mistake was trusting in whom we believed were Gods only channel of communication on earth.

Infact those who did sell everything and go where the need was great were commended. And others were encouraged by their STEPPING OUT in faith .

It reminds me about something that happened later but on a lesser scale. There was a prediction of a blizzerd in 19 I think it was 1982

It was during the worlds Christmas Holiday season .We had a schudeled assembly in Indianapolous and we were not going to go because of the approching storm.

The elders read a letter from the society and afterwards we decided the right thing to do was to show faith and go inspite of the horrible predictions .We took a karosene heater with us and we went off in our van

When we arrived hours later we got in our motel to find out that only we had a heater to warm ourselves so we invited people we knew to come to our rooms until others got heat. We had a great time playing old rock songs and singing and had some refreshments ( including beer) for adults only.It wasn't until morning when we got to the assembly hall that we found out from the brother who gave the announcements that WE all (the ones who weathered the storm in faith )Did not ';act with the spirit of a sound mind '; Yes we were encouraged to go but we had to go out again the next morning and go home .They did have a session that day regardless of the extreem cold and a window on the upper floor that a wind gust blew a large tree branch or tree itself don't remember which and broke it so all the freezing wind could come in the convention hall.

No one said a word of those who were riding with us and or at lunch break actually no one hardly spoke.

People took off from work lost money that they needed and took a chance that they might get stranded in this even with there small children and elderly . Did they ';act in faith'; or lack ';a spirit of a sound mind.???';

Sorry I cannot trust it anymore really I just cannot do the things I did anymore ';in faith'; and then end up'; lacking a sound mind ';.

A persons mind and emotions cannot be moved around like they are a ball on the ping pong table at someones whim .Because a tree smashing a window and the inconvience of the cold coming in we were no loner acting in faith but it changed to lacking a sound mind.

The same with prophecies they are or they aren't you cannot ping pong them around ,

Does it have the teaching listed that Jesus had no facial hair?I loved that one and I fianally convinced my family who were unbelievers only to have new light shine from the WBTS saying that he did have facial hair and they began to picture him as bearded .My family said so they got the new light of understanding about that ?We believed it in Christianity for centuries already .What could I say?How can JWs convince anyone that Russell and Rutherford never had a single false teaching or prophecy?
I don't think that either of them even had a single teaching that was not either Non Biblical or outright False. I have to be honest and say that some folks on here admit the teachings were false, but they are so blinded by the love of the organization that they still accept false teachings to this day. It is so sad to me to see it day in and day out with friends and family.
They have had three false prophesies of the end of the world. I would be embarrassed to belong to such an organization with that past history.

Jeremiah 23:21

“I have not sent these prophets, yet they run around claiming to speak for me.I have given them no message, yet they go on prophesying.
They remove the word “prophecy” in connection with their prophecies once it is realized that they are not true. All during the period of time Russell’s and Rutherford’s dates/events were being proclaimed they were said to be “in fulfillment of Bible prophecy.” This has been true of every prophecy that has ever come from the Watchtower Society. That’s why Jehovah’s Witnesses have believed

them. But once their prophecies are discarded, the word “prophecy” is also discarded.

1. They present what they say “in the name of Jehovah”

2. But “the word does not occur or come true”

The Proclaimers book states more than once that Russell never took credit for any of the dates/events he came up with. When, for example, it is realized that he said that all his dates were “[Jehovah’s] dates,” and Rutherford said that the date of 1925 was “based upon the promises set forth in [Jehovah’s] Word”—and and yet what these men so often said did not occur or come true—it looks like the Bible is

trying to tell them that those men were false prophets. But the Governing Body will not allow the Bible to tell them that. Why not? Because such a conclusion does not fit what they have chosen to believe; what they need to believe. The Governing Body knows that the above “opposers” and “opponents” are correct. Their Proclaimers book shows that many “dates have been set, but nothing has happened”

over and over again. And so why doesn’t this fact convince them that Russell and Rutherford were at least false teachers if not false prophets? Again, the answer to this question cannot be found in the

evidence. It is hidden in the realm of their need to believe what they want to believe. In order for their entire lives not to have been wasted by following an illusion, these men must be able to believe that the Society is God’s organization no matter what contrary evidence exists. But they know they cannot believe it if Russell and Rutherford were false teachers/prophets. And they also know (even if only subconsciously) that if those men were false teachers/prophets

then they themselves as members of today’s Governing Body are out of a job. If Russell and Rutherford were not part of Jesus’ “faithful and discreet slave class” then the present members of the Governing Body aren’t either.
It is all in the intent of the heart.

God knows the intent of the heart of Russell and Rutherford,..if the past information was loaded with inaccuracies based on limited insight of that timebut the intent was sincere and it has now since been corrected...then of course it would be an error but not as in false prophets because that is what was ';thought'; to be true, therefore not malicious.....Ps 130:3 says - If errors were what you watch, O Jah,O Jehovah, who could stand?

But, if the information was known to be false right from the beginning, and is used to mislead and/or is never corrected but is continued to be used as a teaching,...than it would always be a false teaching and will be dealt with in the end. God does know the difference. - 2 Timothy 4:3, 4; 2Ti 3:6-8; Eph 4:13,14

It is similar to the teaching of ';once saved alway saved'; this false teaching is being taught as truth even though the bible does not endorse it. The scriptures repeatedly say that we have to be faithful until the end and that our salvation is not guaranteed just because we have faith in Jesus. We are told to combine our faith with works to prove to God what is really in our hearts. The religious group who believe these false teachings and the ones that teach it as truth will find themselves against God's wrath.

Matt 10:22-- And YOU will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name; but he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved

Jude 5, RS: “I desire to remind you, though you were once for all fully informed, that he who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.” (Italics added.)

Matt. 24:13, RS: “He who endures to the end will be saved.” (So a person’s final salvation is not determined at the moment that he begins to put faith in Jesus.)

Phil. 2:12, RS: “As you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (This was addressed to “the saints,” or holy ones, at Philippi, as stated in Philippians 1:1. Paul urged them not to be overly confident but to realize that their final salvation was not yet assured.)

Heb. 10:26, 27, RS: “If we sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries.” (Thus the Bible does not go along with the idea that no matter what sins a person may commit after he is “saved” he will not lose his salvation. It encourages faithfulness. See also Hebrews 6:4-6, where it is shown that even a person anointed with holy spirit can lose his hope of salvation.)

Eph. 2:8, 9, RS: “By grace [“undeserved kindness,” NW] you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God—not because of works, lest any man should boast.” (The entire provision for salvation is an expression of God’s undeserved kindness. There is no way that a descendant of Adam can gain salvation on his own, no matter how noble his works are. Salvation is a gift from God given to those who put faith in the sin-atoning value of the sacrifice of his Son.)

Heb. 5:9, RS: “He [Jesus] became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him.” (Italics added.) (Does this conflict with the statement that Christians are “saved through faith”? Not at all. Obedience simply demonstrates that their faith is genuine.)

Jas. 2:14, 26, RS: “What does it profit, my brethren, if a man says he has faith but has not works? Can his faith save him? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so faith apart from works is dead.” (A person does not earn salvation by his works. But anyone who has genuine faith will have works to go with it—works of obedience to the commands of God and Christ, works that demonstrate his faith and love. Without such works, his faith is dead.)

Acts 16:30, 31, RS: “‘Men, what must I do to be saved?’ And they [Paul and Silas] said, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.’” (If that man and his household truly believed, would they not act in harmony with their belief? Certainly.)
Why do askers on Y!A make up accusations that aren't based in fact?? Is it because they have no actual lives??

I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

We even made a book, The Proclaimers book, which in detail lists and addresses inaccurate teachings the Bible Students had. No cover up, no conspiracy. Grow up please.

Belief in Jesus dying on a Cross.

Use of Images in worship.

Celebrations of Pagan holidays, such as Christmas.

You didn't see ANY of these things mentioned??
By constantly revising the doctrine, destroying evidence that fails to support the doctrine, and making it anathema to question the leadership.

Pretty much the usual fundamentalist m.o.
I can't find a single true prophecy by either of those crooks.

I believed hook line and sinker what the Watchtower society TOLD me to think until I left the witnesses and started doing some of my own studying.
I've never met a JW's who wouldn't readily admit that Russell and Rutherford got some things wrong.
That's like telling someone to breathe water instead of air! It cannot be done.
they don't admit to past mistakes they just change them.
